For the purpose of obtaining basic data for the development of occupational health educational programme and prevention of occupational disease, the knowledge-attitude study was carried out on 314 workers at four health hazardous workplace,
suchas
dust,
organic solvents, lead, and chromium.
It was found that the knowledge of occupational health on health hazardous factor at workplace, exposure routes and toxic symptoms were not abundunt and the practice of health examination, use of personal protectors and personal hygiene were
inadequate.
Generally, the knowledge and attitude of occupational health in youngers (below 20years old) and olders (over 50years old) were lower than those in other age groups, and showed slightly difference depending upon educational levels, and at 3-5
years
duration of workers were higher than other group.
In most of workers, the knowledge-attitude of occupational health were inadequate and it is necessary to design the systemic efforts of occupational health education to increase the practice of occupational health and reflect the opining of
workers
at
workplace in occupational health education programme.
